Psycho Studio is an offshoot from Saulbass.com that allows the user to edit a version of the infamous Psycho shower scene. It uses original footage, is sliced into thirty-one component parts, each one a separate .swf file. The interface uses drag ‘n drop to allow the visitor to quickly and easily build their own retake of the Hitchcock classic. I’m going to discuss some of the techniques I used to create this Fla pplication next. I’m afraid I haven’t been able to imclude the Psycho clips on the CD, but I guess that leaves you free to include your own short .swf files as content. Drag ‘n’ Drop with Masking The following technique allows you to set up a simple drag ‘n drop action that allows things to be dragged outside a window, even when the content you’re dragging is masked off inside the window, (which is what happens in the clips window in Psycho Studio).
